Summary

The labware type registration UI should operate in two modes:

• Populating all properties of a new LabwareType directly
• Using an existing LabwareType as a template, and updating select parameters.

Navigate to Labware Definitions

• Navigate to the left pane
• Click on the Labware menu item
• Click on the sub-menu item Definitions

How to Create a New Labware Definition

• Locate the Action button at the top-right corner labeled Create.

• Click the Create button to open the dialog box.
• Fill in the mandatory fields:
  • Name
  • Type
  • Vendor
  • Manufacturer
• (Optional) Add details in the non-mandatory fields:
  • Description
  • Attributes

• Once all fields are filled out, the Create button at the bottom of the dialog box will be enabled.

• Click the Create button to create the new labware definition.

• A toast message will confirm the successful creation.

• After refreshing the screen, the newly created labware will appear at the top of the list.

Labware Definitions Page Columns

The Definitions page consists of the following columns:

• Name
• Type
• Vendor
• Manufacturer
• Active
• Attributes
• Actions

• The Name column has a filtering option to filter and view the required labware definitions.

• Clicking on the InfoIcon will display the attributes associated with that labware definition.

• The Actions column consists of two operations:
  • Clone – Allows creating a new definition with some changes compared to the original.
  • Delete – Soft deletes the definition. The definition will no longer be active but can still be restored if needed.

• Once deleted, the Delete icon changes to a Restore icon. Clicking on Restore will restore the definition.

Cloning the Labware Definition

• When cloning a definition, it is mandatory to fill in the required fields.
• The attributes are copied from the original definition but can be modified if needed.

How to Restore Deleted Definitions

• Once deleted, the Delete icon changes to a Restore icon.
• Clicking on the Restore icon will restore the definition.
